just got a dovii

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this makes me laugh, no one would know what a dovii was if everyone who bought one could house an adult, 99 percent of users here have themselves bought fish they couldnt house as an adult initially period...

Where did you buy it? I am on the island as well

Sent from my ADR6350 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

country critters in patchougue. I bought it cuz Ive never seen one in person and the price was right sooo.... we will see what happens. hes in my 125 with a firemouth(whos chasing him like crazy) a 7 inch jag(who is only concerned for his territory) a 7 inch Dempsey(who allows the dovii to go in his cave) and a mayan who cud care less. I put a toad in the tank to see what would happen and the dovii attacked it viciously but he didn't eat it lol I was laughing. besides that I haven't seen him eat pellets or anything else

I see what ur saying, gotcha. I was reading a book at the library on cichlids and it said doviis and jaguars are barely classified as an aquarium species because of ther size. this book was written probly like 15 years ago, being on this website makes me realize how far weve taken this hobby!

i know, people act like you need a 600g to keep a male dovii, very rare to see one over 20inches imo and 18 being the norm... compared to where most will end up they are better off in a tank of somebody on a forum like this with say a 150g,who has a genuine interest than a random who likes the cute baby at the lfs, then the spotty salesman sells them it with a smile and no info at all... good luck with the dovii dude.
