I plan on getting 2x for both my 125s, will they be enough? Stock on 1 is a just a Jag, the stock on the other is gonna be 2x Os and a GT, plus some sort of bottom dweller. second question, I am always concerned with power, so does running 2x fx6s really help that much VS 2x fx5
 
What is the amp rating of each filter? how much are you paying for electricity?
 
Not sure there amps. Right now with fish room, I am running 3x ac110, 3x emperor 400s, 4x 300w heaters, one 150w heater and jehmco air pump. Fixed bill at 102.00 but really using 125.00 worth on bill. I want to drop the 3x emperors add the fx5 or 6's

need to know in order to compare the costs of the two. A fixed bill is not the cost of your electricity. You will need to know what you are paying per kilowatt hour.
 
let my find the old bill, but I was wondering though, a price of a fx5 vs the price of a fx6, is the extra price worth the differnace in the long run. but let me dig an old bill
 
hey, I cant find any old bills, sorry, I live in NC, not sure if kilo watt hours cost different in each state
 
I had used FX5 before, unfortunately died on me after 5 years. Did the great job keeping my tank crystal clear while in service. Rated at 56 watt. 1900 l/h with full media. A bit pita in cleaning the filter though.

There isn't much of a difference as far as performance. I use 1 fx5 + 1500gph hydor korillia cirulator with pfs and I never vac or clean. Just wc
