Yes you are right except for the gar does not naturally eat things too large so realistically the teeth wouldn't even be a contributing factor to this argument because they don't attack larger prey than them or prey that is equal in size they attack things 1/3 the size of their body so this is not a factor. Arapaima however have much more mass to them their head is less slender than a gar which and they have incredible jumping force so they would obviously have more muscle and also the Arapaima has the ability to breathe air the gar does not to my knowledge.which gives it the ability to live in diverse conditions the Arapaima would most likely not swallow the gar but only kill it by ramming it with its brute force i don't think a gar would do as well with ramming because of its super elongated head any ways in my personal opinion i think that the paima is by far the top contender in this case.

Gar and pima both breath air...draw......just had to clear that up haha....but im siding with the bullshark, or idian goonch as their both proven people eaters :) not raggin on atf fans but all it takes is a piece of aquarium glass and one bad spook and there dunzo lol....in terms of a tough as nails canidate its the gator gar as they once thrived in almost all tempatures where as moat every other fish said here would perish. They cant eat people tho so thats no fun hah.

Awesome fish indeed! I personally don't feel it's the ultimate freshwater predator though :p

GATF are confirmed mankillers as well.

I'm inclined to agree that the gator gar might be the toughest out there because I suspect it's the only one that's well enough armored that a big GATF couldn't kill it.

anyone debunking the eletric eel?

A viable contender. I wonder what effect its shock would have on a 400 pound paima or gator gar. I also wonder what the effect would be on a hundred pound GATF. If it failed to kill any of them with its shock, I suspect it wouldn't last very long.

keeinp mind during the dry season, lots of em are bunched up together. it shocks humans to death, so a hundred pounder goliath is nothing, ithink it wiltakel down the paima as well and if they afe just stunned, candiru asu steps in

Ok everybody bring their best fish and we can have a battle royale. Last fish standing or in this case swimming.

Didnt know gatf were conformed man eaters...+1 for the gatf lol. When people move a few steps lower on the food chain it gets interesting :)
