You're right. We've had it for a very long time. It's easy to rip out of the ground but since it is so fragile, even a fragment left behind will begin a new plant. A little bit of it looks nice in the landscape, but you just have to rip some out if it starts to spread around. Also forgot to mention I have some purslane that grows wild in my backyard too. I actually introduced this weed because it is a very nutritious vegetable/weed. It is very easy to get rid of it you do not want it in a particular spot. But I like to leave it cause it is pretty harmless. I have seen people use it as "live mulch". I wish I could get some dandelions to establish here as well. Very good/useful weed too.

Couldn't you go out, find some and replant the dandelions in your yard?

Bumping this up. We don't have much flat land on our property (we're on an acre but most of it is bush) so making a vege garden for the summer required a lot of digging and a bit of carpentry!

5x3M and room to add another row of boards on the poles to make it a bit bigger, if I can be bothered carrying that much compost up there! You can see the roof of the house in the left of the picture, the house is two stories tall and cut into the hill, and the closest I can get a trailer/car is the ground floor so the compost will have to be carried up by hand (too steep for wheelbarrow), probably at least fifty 40L bags. It's ok, I could use a bit of exercise!!

I love gardening. My main focus is banana plants, anything that will bear fruit here and trees of all kinds. Sadly it's quite hard to obtain exotic banana varieties here so I mainly just experiment with the Dwarf Cavendish's I have.

Good bump.I have a few different banana types on my property that I dig up and bring in each fall.I want a Musa basjoo but I'll have to wait til this spring as no supplier will ship any from now til then....

With the constant transplantation is their growth stunted?
