Nice! Where are you at ? I have heard of some Trachy's as they are called, growing in Canada, and there is one I just found in Maine - those things are tough - and beautiful to boot! How big is yours?

I've been in this game for a long time, but surprisingly I have not even started trying to push the limits of any plants yet - but hearing things like this make me want to. And of course it's the wrong time of year to start!

I'm in Philadelphia,Pa.and it sits about three feet high.I hope it grows a few more feet in height so it will really be a nice display. It winters well,it did in its previous location. It shouldn't do any worse where it is now though.

That's actually a nice size - and it should put on some more weight soon - I imagine that it would do very well in Philly as it is decidedly mild in comparison to some other areas close to you.
Do you have any nice greenhouses in your area?

If you don't know them, and feel like a little road trip (Not too far for you) - You should check out Meadowbrook Nursery, and Ott's Exotic Plants.

There are a few around and those places sound like something I could check out...

Since you guys seem to know bananas, I have what I believe is a dwarf cavendish, possibly super dwarf, growing aquaponically in my catfish tank. It hasn't suckered and is getting too large for the space available, two foot stem and leaves about another two feet. If I lop it off do you think it will re grow from the corm or should I just remove it as I don't want the eight feet of roots to rot in my tank. Long term plan is to replace it with a "little prince" or "truly tiny" variety which is a more appropriate size but if possible I'd like to keep this one going for now.

Depending on how high you cut it off, it can push new growth through the old stalk, or (rarely) start lots of new ones.
