can only agree.. that is pretty much as big as big as a footprint gets.. IF any of the mentioned fish would outgrow the tanks especially the ATF there will not only be takers, they will pay.. most of the guys with really big tanks rely on donations but I think a 2.5 feet ATF is something even those guys would pay for.. that is IF it survives.. 6x6 is a better footprint than 99% of the people on a site dedicated to big tanks and fish.. and 2 of those..![]()
really nice tanks dude.. got 5x5x2.5 myself and that sort of footprint is hilariously good! gonna be great seeing them with fish in them..
to be fair, a motoro with good genes have the capacity of outgrowing even the bigger tanks if it gets to be 10-20 years.. unfortunately you lose fish, trade fish, get in and out of the hobby.. that's what the game is like.. life's to short to hate on stupid things.. go lecture the guys having pacus and rtcs in 150's instead..

The rocket science part is that these fish have to LIVE for many years to achieve those sizes even.the most advance keepers here lose specimens far before they ever reach this.size so while these monstar stay around 2 feet which really is the more realistic size they will ever reach (the red tail i know get bigger).and so do.the tigers but people need to realize that captive animals almost never reach their wild potential and these fish would be more.than.happy in either of these 450s for several years and the selling of one of these tanks (which the op already stated wouldnt be needed to afford any changes) woukd easily paybfor a 1000 plus gallon diy pond i coukd build one for 500 bucks. The problem pole is that you trying to sound like you know much more than you actually do takes away from the educated diacuasion that coukd be taking place. Instead here we all are again.arguing with post addict that has to have the last word. Unless you are going to give the op a new tank yourself then telling them their tank is too small is only taking up space on this site that could be used for the furthing of knowledge of unknown species and the like instead we get into pissing matches of who can speculate what fish they dont have need.

red tail cats grow to a three foot monster fast( assuming we were speaking about the red tails) and they will outgrow this tank, and I doubt they will be stunted. they will end up taking up most of the bottom space, meaning they could prove a problem with those rays.

remember there is TWO tanks!
Fast pole is still around 3 years to hit three feet. Tiger fish would be longer. If he saved up 200 dollars a year he could build a pond on the third year just for the cat. And if any of us some how managed to get a "full" grown rtc or gatf i think we would shell out the extra for.them to.have what they need. I MEAN COME ON DUDE OP ALREADY STATED HE WILL BE UPGRADING all your doing is further asking the mods to give you a nice hefty ban. If you want to make post like this go over to predatory fish keeper they have a much younger crowd there that would happily take on your "expertise"
