Yea if I want a 8 foot monster that has a reputation for being nasty

Its very rare to get an 8ft monitor of any kind in captivity. Its even more rare for it to live that long. Also pther then Tegus, Water monitors are known to be one of the tamest. I have handled and was able to cuddle/play around with a 5.5 foot water monitor.

My opinion was merly based on your post. She wants a handleable lizard. You want a dwarf caimen. Considering the Dwarf caimen is much more dangerous. I figured a Water monitor would be a great alternative to what you both want. I have owned several monitor lizards.

Water monitors get big if raised right, mine was 5 ft something before I got into fish. I had s savannah at 3, no offense but do yourself a favor and leave monitors out. They are the monster fish of the herp world and get a bad rap, but once in a while they are docile, mostly mean though.
You can pm if ya want jag, also a water needs a gigantic enosure and tanks are no good

LOL!...Get her a bearded dragon...so you were in the hobby just for her?
Agreed, bearded dragon very personable lizards, I prefer iguanas, had one for 8 years but they get big, and while they like to be held and stroked there claws can be killers.

Morning ehh

5 wives? no that's 4 daughters. 2 sons.

I think a leopard gecko is probably a good "starter" lizard. They don't need a ton of room, so it probably isn't really an either/or choice at this point.

How about an axolotl. It can live in a fish tank, but is a little more interactive.
