Yes, both of scats kels came from japan. But, sadly, both of his bass passed away. I don't know anyone else that has them.

As for the spangles being on younger bass....Out of all the kelberi's I've raised, had spangles on the anal fins and gold glitter on the pec fin by the time they were 6'' or so. The only kelberi I have raised that was a last bloomer was rapps 4th batch.

Yes they were......the 4th batchers had the same shape as the ipatinga but developed even slower.

All I can add to this thread is this: there's a reason when some of us want 2-3 of a particular fish, we buy 12 and cherry pick. That said, I think there is a LOT of blatant misidentification going around the hobby nowadays. I don't buy into any of these locales because the harsh truth is that 95% of cichla come from Asia today. I don't care who tells you what. There are only a handful of vendors who's word holds any weight in my eyes.
