Most non-native species in FL are not a result of aquarium releases, but simply an escapee from fish farms during hurricanes. Sure few individual fishes may be someone's pet but the rest are just escapees.Best intentions only go so far and down here in FL. we have a large number of fish (native and non) released into our waterways by irresponsible hobbyists who buy Dovii thinking the huge 125 they bought will suffice......

Keep all harmful chemicals away from the aquarium. Cigarette smoke, paint fumes, and aerosol sprays can be toxic if they are absorbed into the water.

Here is something I never thought about. I have an air pump system with multiple sponge filters in all my tanks. I am an avid smoker and sm0ker and have been for years. I wonder how much of the smoke affect my tank waters. ;-/

Unfortunately, Florida is full of fish farms, that is where the majority of our tropical fish comes from. There's no denying this fact and it's already proven that majority of non-native fishes in Florida came from the fish farms.there's no real way to know one way or the other.
I find it hard to believe with all the fish keepers in florida only one or two of them ended up with a tank full of baby convicts, and after finding out they had nowhere to put them and no-one who wanted them dumped them in a local canal.
As long as you use filters, it's safe![]()
