A personable cichlid for my 75 gallon tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You more than likely won't get the chance my Blackbelt killed all but one of the dollars at night. Either accept they'll die or get rid of them before hand. Its the sad truth of the matter

I didn't necessarily mean black belts I meant large personable cichlids in general. So what are my options then.

Most large personable cichlid will eat them. I honestly can't think of a larger cichlid that wouldn't kill them

Ill get the cichlid reasonably small and rehome the danios on the very first sign of aggression. It just has to coexist with the catfish.

Most cichlids will coexist semi peacefully with the catfish. If you plan on rehoming them just get what you like

anything :o ? Wow that's a lot of options and yes I plan on upgrading in about two years to a 125-180 gallon that the cichlid can go in. Do you have any experience with amphs, I've heard the grow somewhat slow and they have amazing color. I was thinking something like; red devil, trimac, Midas, flowerhorn.

If you want a amph get rid of the danios before. They grow almost as Oscars just a tad bit slower but still can hit around 7-9 inches in the course of a year. Your options are still limited.

What else other than amphs would work? I would prefer to sell the danios after I get the cichlid just to enjoy them a bit longer. I assume an umbee a would outgrow it to quick right? So what else?

Don't even consider a umbee lol. your care for your danios is admirable but they are really limiting you

I just want to know the danios are going to someone responsible. So if i got rid of the danios ahead of time what would my options be, list a few non amphs?
