I think what was said that he was directing the attention away from the problem with bringing up 14yo, 18yo gang banger and bad kids. a whole bunch of "ifs" and "buts". the article is talking about a 1 year old getting mauled.
Regarding my problem the problem is do I have to stand guard over my family day and night so they can play on the swing set in my back yard. I guess I will have to quit my job and go on welfare to do so all because someone needs a tough guy dog.
Sorry but I get really pissed about this subject people refuse to look at the facts. My cousin who is very intelligent (Phd) takes in rescue pitts to foster and has three small children all because she has a big heart. One of those dogs is going to flip the switch on her kids and everyone will scream bad owner.
Back to the Lexus subject it is another organization that cares more about dogs than people. they tie up tax payers money to fight in court over a dog that is a killer. this group sickens me.
Hardly. Organizations like this are started and funded by outraged owners when their dog gets in trouble for other people stupidity. Dog mauls a 1 yo should be put down, might want to actually read my post. The others are also ALL cases in the news not made up. It's exactly those cases that are causing the problem you are so stridently crying about. So it is solidly on topic. Should viscous dogs be put down? Yes. Ok great now define viscous.
As far as self defense dogs on your property posing a threat go ahead. Self defense is a civil right no matter how much your governor pisses on it.
Plenty pisses me off too like religious charities getting state and federal money for adoptions.
There you go redirecting the topic - how horrible religious people getting money to help with adoptions IE CHILDREN WITH NO PARENTS, FAMILIES, HOMES! I agree it would be better to spend money on dogs who have mauled kids better yet lets feed the orphans to the dogs it will save on dog food. Most of the "religious" people I know that adopted kids didn't get this money you claim they paid 25k per child of their own money so that at least 1 child would have a better life. Please tell me where I can get this money. I would like to adopt and make a child's life better... oh that's right no such funding exists.
I did read it and the cases you mentioned are not the ones causing the problem. if you read through all the fatal attacks from 2013 as I did 78% are caused by pits 6% by mastif and 6% german shepherd 3% ALL OTHER BREEDS. I don't know the exact number but most where small children and elderly. NONE where gang banging teenagers. Read the facts here I will make it easy here are the links

Actually no. Nice try but no. The second that the dog crosses into your yard it constitutes imminent threat. You want to shot the dog on it's owner property. Not the same.
Your original quote sounds like you are defending viscous dogs because it is "gang bangers" causing these attacks. If I am wrong I am sorry but that is they way it reads.
I unfortunately have no solution. I would not be sad if all pitts are gone but that is not feasible. I do think regulation need to be put in place for people that have these dogs. I should not have to feel unsafe for my children because my neighbor doesn't keep a dog on a lead. A dog that has showing aggression. Just like I have to register my fire arm. I think owners of certain breeds have to register there dogs. Any harm comes from those dogs they loose the right to own dogs just like I would loose the right to own my firearms.
exactly I have to wait for the dog to come on my property and harm my child. Living in NY I am not allowed to carry so I would have to go in get my revolver and come out all before the dog gets to my family. That means I ahve to be home so what happen the 5 days a week I am at work.
but I am not going to waste anymore time on this topic. nothing ever gets solved and I just get heated and pissed off. Time to go look at some fish.
