What happens when you guys tell strangers about your tank?

whenever i tell people i keep fish they always have the samse response, wow must be boring. Then wen they see my tanks theyre all like wow such a big fish omg is he trying to bite me? and start playingwith the algae scraper.
 
No one ever says I'm obsessed or I'm the fish master or anything probably cuz majority of the strangers are friends of friends that already know a great deal about me. Once they see them though I get all sorts of reactions but mostly "omg! Are those eels?" Cuz I keep a bunch of bichirs then I get a lot of "holy sh*t! Have those ever bitten you?" When they see my armatus or ATF.

My current gf that I've dated for only a couple months has gone to never owning a fish tank in her life to now owning 4 and in the past month she's already made the switch from "girly" community fish to now having bichirs, eels and a scomb. Ya, pretty sure I'm gonna be with her for a looong time 😍

Haha WAY too soon to even consider that right now! I knew she'd make the switch pretty soon though cuz every time she came over, she loved the fish more and more and started to like her angelfish and gourami less and less. I've even gotten her to keep snakes now as well and the best part... she's into chicks too 😉

They don't understand, I put a lot of time , effort money and love into my tank and fish.for a lot of people they want entertainment that's instant ,easy and requires little effort. They don't understand the aspect of it being a very rewarding hobby on the personal level

Actually most people think its pretty 'normal' that I keep fish. The strange looks come when I mention I have three tanks (72g bow, 40B and 210g) and that the largest is 210 gallons.
 
@ awe3ome some reason its not letting me quote but you'll find all girls like girls, whether they admit it or not is the only issue lol
