Hybrid cats

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It has to be a carp in "heat". It is killed (humanely, I assume) and its pituitary gland is removed and the hormones are extracted with a solvent. That extract is what is used on the parents of the future hybrid. It can be added to water but it is much more efficient if it is injected into the parent fish.

Yeah, cichlids breed mostly "naturally", more or less, so the cichlid example, as you stated, is outside of the scope of this discussion, I think.

Hybridization happens in the wild all times, and in some cases the wild hybrids can be funky, not just man-made hybrids. Blood Parrot and Rose Queen is same fish, one just happens to be selected for a short body trait just like a common goldfish and a fancy goldfish. I've seen more deformities in purebreds than hybrids. And you can find wild cichlids with huge kok out in the wild.

Holy cow, Rinitis....... you are insinuating that I am a nazi or something because I don't like unnatural hybridization?!?! What does a persons ancestral background have to do with MFK? None of the fish I mentioned have hybridized naturally. Lots of fish will spawn with something that is a different species when that is the only opportunity to reproduce they have in our aquariums. A few are believed to do it in nature but very few that I am aware of. Injecting hormones into fish to see what you get does not improve these fish and serves no real purpose. I sense there are a few dickheads among us to bring people into the equation here. I spoke my personal feelings, I don't like forced hybridization of fish. The way they came about naturally is all we need.

Oops sorry I guess that came off meaner then intended!!! It was just to be used as an argument point of saying is humans are essentially hybrids. In no way was it meant to make offence or push my opinion on you, just to bring another perspective to someone's opinion. I dont believe it's right to force anyone's ways onto another (not saying you are) but do feel they should have options and other view points to make a decision of their own.

I dont force people to agree with me. Everyone has their own opinion of what is a beautiful creature. I just don;t like manipulated animals. If they do it naturally fine. That includes people.

If you dont mind me asking what is your ethnicity and background?

I find nothing wrong with hybrids if they don't have any deformities and handicaps. Look at humans I'm quite sure almost no one is a pure background. An easy one look at Americans sorry to say but you're not 100% in sense of genes since you came from Europe and who knows from which parts. Mixing just happens. But If it's deformed and has major health risks I dont like it.

To put it in fish terms, that's a mixing of specimens of a single species from different collection points. Considering the small percentage of DNA in modern humans that is from an extinct species of early humans, we are all specimens of a hybrid species, though the hybridization occurred through natural means.
