Lol you're the only one showing ignorance bud. No where did I deny that 4 cylinders could be fast.

And when did this get so side tracked we need to be focused more on people's whips!!! Not on endless debate of opinions

*Steve Urkel's voice* "Did I do that?"

It was when I mentioned 'American Muscle" and V6 don't seem to go together

Also if you must. Factor in cost, maintenance, and reliability(price to fix breakdowns).. Also to say a GTR handles better than a viper? Only In the hands of an average driver but, someone skilled I'd take the viper all day around the track.. How many vipers race in different classes compared to GTRs?
Also horsepower numbers can be deceiving.. Peak horsepower is only part of it. The power curve is just as important if not more.. You may have a 4cyl. Produce 600-700hp @ 8-10k rpm but, what is it doing at 3-4k? Maybe half that if lucky? Now a V8 may produce 500hp @ 6k rpm yet at 3-4k rpm is producing more hp than the 4cyl. Couple that with the more torque from displacement and the v8 is dusting a more powerful car before the 4cyl. Can catch it.

Skid pad proves the gtr can out handle the viper, plus the average driver will have a much easier time controlling an awd compared to a oversteer ridden viper.

And your right about power/torque curves that's where the gear ratio comes in to optimize max power, if you can keep that 4 Banger in its optimal rpm then its fine as long as your a good driver!

I just compared the viper and gtr cuz they were nearly the same price.

×Go S. Vettel #1 Infiniti Redbull! 4x WDC!!! Congrats on another flawless title× <GET BETTER SCHUMI>

Common sense should tell a person that a gtr would out handle a viper. look at skidpad numbers, track times etc.
Gtr is 4 seconds faster around the nūrburgring.

Gotta love that movie trailer style vid nissan released about the Nuremberg track time. Let me go on a desktop and see if I can find it

Nice clip and while I've never been a big import fan I would have to have a GTR in the stable.

Wow, over 700 posts since this thread was created and a lot of sweet whips...glad I got to catch up.

I recently maxed out my mods for being N/A and dyno'd the M and hit my goal of 400.05 to the wheels!

This was the first recorded pull @ the shop, I have been partially deaf since that day

Love the carbon fiber roof, bmw stepped it up big time, I remember seeing that at the dealer when it first came out and just being in awe! Very nice figures to the wheels, prlly 450-480 to the crank. Beautiful sound as well

Thank you for the positive feedback F1, I appreciate it.

I agree, BMW did step it up with the e90 series M3; a v8 that produced its 414bhp @ 8400rpm was very unique; as was the N/A 3.2L Inline 6 in the e46 M3 w/ 333hp @ 8k rpm.

The ///M engines are slowly losing their uniqueness...I personally am disappointed they are basically using the 335i twin-turbo Inline 6 in the new M4/M3. Everything is F/I nowadays to keep up with the competition and also to produce more hp/tq and slightly better fuel economy.

And you are correct on your #'s, around 470+ to the crank on 91 octane I would assume as I beat a slightly modded C63 AMG.
I have a race map file w/ my tune for 100+ octane that would put me around 500bhp

Here is my favorite part of the car besides the engine
