My Pack of Vittatus Tiger Fish.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no experience with VATF but I currently have a Goliath with 4 acestrorhynchus but all still on live. The smallest acestrorhynchus actually more aggressive at feeding time and grabs the first rosie red ahead of the ATF.

ummm the acestrorhynchus will not do well either. From my experience they are very fragile and need peaceful tank mates. The VATF will bully them.

To keep ATF successfully the tank needs to be set up around them. You can't mix other fish that are picky because the ATF have unique requirements and there are very few fish that can cohabitate peacefully.

:iagree: you should keep the smaller one too... try feeding something different. Like chopped squid or fresh frozen clams/mussel.. that might give the smaller atf a better chance at getting to the food. Here is a feed video from last year, there was chopped shrimp, squid, and clams. This was round two of feeding.

Haha if it doesn't you'll be the first to know. And they are currently in a 75g. I'll be upgrading in July or August when I move. Thinking something like a 8x4x2 (480) or might even go 8x4x2.5 (600).

when it comes to tanks for ATF "Go big or go home"..........

When mine got to be over 12 inches my 650 was too small. At 18" it was like they were in a shoe box. They would zip around and constantly turn in circles because it wasn't enough room. If I build another tank it would be minimum 12 feet long.

And oh btw it's not a good idea to keep moving them as they grow. ATF don't like to be moved and get really stressed when you catch them. The only way I could catch them without too much stress was to drain the tank.

Yup and many die just from shock of netting them out. That's why you don't see many huge ones in tanks
