Jebao = Taking over the world with Cheap! low power usage pumps & Wave makers, look

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The beefed up DC inverter of the Wavelines is worth the premium IMO. Not to mention the moral issues of completely copying a design, and selling a cheaply made replica.

Now that I replaced the wet side and it's working the other pump has quit. So 3 wet sides in one year at $60 a pop. I think I will just invest in another vortech which has provided me with over 3 years of trouble free operation. Maybe more expensive but beats replacing wet sides every few months! You get what you pay for I guess so I will stick with vortech.

FYI, Jebao wavemakes don't go good in stingray tanks as they can't be in a fixed position and the rays keep grabbing them and either rip them off or move them so they point in a different direction. I have already woke up to one pointing straight down and cleared the glass below of substrate. I would hate to wakeup to one pointing up and shooting water out of the tank or making a mess of some sort.

Maybe 2 times a year my vortech gets pulled off and that's just from aggressive breeding behaviour in the tank. Simple fix, falls off, reattach. No water anywhere!!

been running the large canister for almost 2 years. no issues, made at the old Asian factory for eheim when they pulled out. its the pro 3 size. I was not impressed with the cords size which makes me dowt the power head. still? no issues so far.

I am running two Jebao DC-9000 pumps. They both sit in the sump and work opposite 6 hour duty cycles. They have been doing this for two months with no issues. I have an apex so I am not using the controller that came with the pump, instead I run a 24v 10 amp transformer off the AC mains from the apex power bar, then I use a simple voltage divider (two resistors in series) to knock the apex variable outputs from 10 to 5 volts to feed them into the pump's PWM input (the third wire), this basically lets the apex do what the jebao controller's original function was.

I did find out the jebao controller is not linear from 0 to 100%... one light on the jebao is really about 50% or 2.5 volts then it is pretty much a linear step up 6 divisions to 100% or 5 volts.

I bought two because my friend told me I would regret buying these "crap" pumps... one is more than enough to push my 150 gal. Most of the trouble I see people having seems to relate to the controller or power supply though and since I ditched that part all I can say is that I am pretty happy with the pump itself.

These pumps are absolute JUNK! I have gone through at least 3 dc12000's in the past few months. I switched over a bunch of my pumps on multiple tanks and they keep dying. Buyer beware these pumps are the cheapest of the cheap, i will be converting all of them as the rest die on me.

Sorry to hear, how are you plumbing them, submerged? What size plumbing? I still am running 5 not a problem at all with any of them

Yes submerged and 1-1/2 right from the pump to tank

After reading up on them turns out there are tons of people with problems. Looks like all their products are garbage.

The new models, jebao dct, work really well. I run two of the jebao dct 12000 at half speed in the sump of my 300g. Great stuff. My electricity bill is no higher than it was before the tank was running. Highly recommend them at this point.

Mine worked fine at first too
Just wait a few months...
