I'm personally not sure.

Robert Kirkman said it's not a spin-off.

I guess look at the Alien movies. Prometheus is not considered a spin-off where as Predator vs. Alien is

I almost used that example but something made me doubt that sumo has seen it. I think it's also all in how you want to market your movie/show.

I had heard that Prometheus was a spinoff but I don't see how.

the writers are cautious about calling it a spin off. That's enough for me without debating the technicalities.,It wasn't until we neared the debut that it became overwhelming paraded as a spin off. image.jpg

Lol it was a rough watch but good ending. The origins of Aliens. I saw it in theater too, way dry and really slow. Maybe you missed the end
I was movie hopping...don't remember what I came out to see but when it was over I went into the screen room where Prometheus was playing....sat down...got comfy and a few minutes later it was all she wrote.I do recall the alien guy looked like a buffed and shredded Woody Harrelson.

lmao, this is hilarious

I did see Prometheus and aliens vs pred

Prometheus is a prequel, I thought that was common knowledge. how can it be a spinoff?

it's the events that directly lead to the events of the first alien movie isn't it?

edit: according to Wikipedia, it was originally planned to be a prequel but they opted to go in a different direction although it takes place in the same universe

anyways, back to ftwd.

I can accept it as a prequel and not a spinoff. the thing that made me see it as a spinoff is because it takes place at the same time as when the original wd started.

and this is where I don't like what they did. to do an ideal prequel to me would be to go much further back. hint at the origins of the sickness or something like that
