What do you use to do water change? Python, Garden hose, Buckets, or auto water changer setup. I'll post a pic of what I used. $9 hose adapter from Ace and $19 garden hose

I use a python water changer. It worked great when the largest tank I had was 55g. Now I'm looking to get a submersible pump for christmas. Like a 1000gph with a hose. Still use the python for gravel vac though.

I mean I can buy it whenever I want. The fiance got pretty upset since I just bought four discus so I think it's time to lay low on the fish related purchases for a little bit. Haha ^.^

Mine is simple but wordy to describe how to do it.

I use a garden hose hooked up one end with a quick disconnect, and the other end with a wide suction tube and a washer hose connector. To start siphoning, (1)hook up to the faucet with the quick disconnect, (2)Submerge the other suction tube end under water in the tank, (3)Turn on the water until flow starts, (4)Disconnect from the faucet and hold a thumb to prevent leak, (5)Relocate the hose to a lower elevation and take off the thumb to discharge.

The quick disconnect is the key to make connection and disconnection quick and easy, and the disconnect adapter makes shutting off leak with a thumb easy. My set up costs only a fraction of what a python would cost, and easier to start siphoning. If you have a big tank and want to accelerate draining, use two hoses.

every thing is drained out the windows or sliding door.all 500g of it.

What i used to do(this was on a 220 gallon mind you):
Drain out window.
Fill with 5 gallon buckets from bathtub. Pour in prime. Let sit for a few mins then dump in tank. Repeat till full.

What i will do from now on.
Drain out window.
Fill from sink with inline carbon block filter.

For those who are looking for ideas. Here is a good video. Now Travis dont carry!

I use the python for the 92g, it drains sort of quickly; takes over 10 mins to fill back up, but that's me being finicky, considering I haven't had to use a single bucket on it lol
