I drilled 2 in the tank. One I drilled from a 1" to 1.5" and the other was just a 1.5" hole. How did you drill threw the granite? With a diamond drill?
Haha that is kinda funny what are the chances of the chuck key braking the glass

WP_20151224_005.jpg OK, this wasn't just done, but I'm glad I thought about it and was shown how it could be done when my bro I law helped with my PVC plumbing. In the center of the picture is where we T'ed off and added a connection nozzle so that I could quickly attach a hose. I close off the two ball valve on the closed loop (seen in the background), and open the ball valve on the nozzle to pump water out using the existing CL pump.

I think it's handy and diy custom for he application.

That, is genius. I may steal that one myself.
I am planning a new sump here shortly.

The rock is in the center of a fountain and a smaller rock sits on top...the hole was for the tubing to the top rock.
I used a Milwaukee 5342 SDS hammer drill and a garden hose.....took about 30min.

I believe in getting a cracked or junk aquarium and just start drilling holes in it. One after the other...break the panel, move to an undroken panel. I have seen aquariums at the thrift store for $10...
Good practice and practice builds confidence.

Do it!all you need to know is let the drill bit do the work keep it straight, not push and keep it cool! Only 3 rules
