Yeah I hit again with more weldon, then used some silicone from ge for acrylic...been holding for 21hrs...we will see. I do wish he would have fixed himself. I'm pretty confident that my patch job will hold, but im definitely not an expert with acrylic.

Just a note the weldon pretty much bonded the sides together I was just getting a drop maybe every 10 seconds so the silicone was to make it water tight, not necessarily hold it all together. I'd never do that. Part of the reason I went acrylic was having a huge glass tank held toget her with a bead of silicone scared me.

Glad to hear you resolved this. Just curious, if you do intend to add an additional acrylic to the seems inside the tank?

Well I did add weldon, but as far as an actual piece, no. Worst case I get an overflow full of water on the floor if I'm wrong, but I think the weldon plus the silicone to fill any minor holes will suffice. Still holding tight with no leaks. If things are ok at 48hrs, fish are going back in.

Some pics,....back left corner went out. Thank God the overflow held back 90% of the water...

The scary thing about large tanks is the sudden and often dramatic failure. I have had acrylic tanks that I literally threw around the garage, used as work benches, stacked parts and junk on and never had fail. Then the one that you take care of suddenly and literally explodes a seam...
I'm glad you are able to fix this issue. Good luck to you.
