Breeding ball pythons

What about breeding siblings?
Any takes on that?
In cold-blooded animals it tends not to manifest until 5-7 generations, but typically most of the people I have consulted with will tell you to keep it under 4 generations. I'm guessing you are speaking one generation or breeding cousins perhaps, but the afore stated "rule" generally applies to being able to "successfully breed 3-4 generations of brothers and sisters with no undesired effects".

So yes, if you wanted to do it once or twice, there would likely be no adverse effects considering you have the background knowledge of HOW/IF inbred the parents are beforehand. Consider also, most of these "morphs" which are technically genetic mutations have already been achieved BY inbreeding in the 1st place - another variation of Line-Breeding.

The other thing you must consider and I apologize for not including it in the genetics explanation post I made, is that you do not want to breed 2 DOMINANTS together that MAY produce a "FATAL" gene. SPIDER + SPIDER will not produce viable young and a few other morphs result in the same thing. They either don't survive as eggs or they die shortly after birth. There is no SUPER-SPIDER. Other DOMINANT traits that form a FATAL or degenerative result (like birth defects) can include BUTTER, PINSTRIPE, CINNAMON, etc. Some MAY have a Super-form like the Cinnamon (A jet black snake called "8-Balls") but that Super-form can also hatch an atrocity or abomination or just plain something you wouldn't want to see live long enough to hatch.........just to die hours later.

Quick question after a confirmed lock how much downtime do you give your male?
Sorry, I didn't see this until just now. We generally give the males 2-3 days WITH the females, then put them back solo for another 3-5 (w/ at least attempts to feed). Both animals should be well over-weight start of breeding because it COULD be months before either decide to eat again.
Ok so I just weighed my female bumblebee for my own knowledge instead of going off of what the breeder told me and he said she weighs 2500g. Well she weighs a little more than 1600. So my question is should I stop breeding her until late this upcoming season. She only had one confirmed lock should I just leave it at that? I just got a 2600g orange ghost female that is huge and chunky Imy guessing I should just breed her instead
You're gonna have to help me with this one,.....I know Ghost is double-recessive (AnerythristicXHypomelanistic), but what about the Orange? There are a few variations, I forget which is which .....only you would know that, I can't help you figure it out.

To me, Orange sounds Line-Bred the way they advertise it. It's not listed as a Het., but either way, it's up to you to find out from the breeder or seller

Well when I looked up the orange ghost it said that she would have all 100% het orange ghosts. Since she is a visual orange ghost.

However with breeding siblings I am going to get these two ball pythons that are 100% het carmel albino and ghost. So they would be the first generation if I breed them together. I would really like some carmel glows ;)
