MY DOG WAS ATTACKED BY 2 PITBULLS TODAY

gotta be careful socializing them as you may have noticed from this thread, but it can be done.....only problem is if it DOESN'T work out, breaking up a fight between 2 angry Pitbulls is scary and dangerous. I had to do it before when my oldest male got into a fight with one of his sons.
I can't imagine how that would be...
I thought seeing my girl and a poodle go at it was bad...
That might change my mind to go back to another mid sized dog.

look at this evil killer:

You be MUCH better off getting a puppy and raise it to be social, it's much easier than teaching an old dog new tricks. I've never had a rescue but I would only recommend it for if you want 1 dog, that way it will get every drop of time you have for it

Ooops, forgot about this one:

A few weeks ago my neighbors pit bull got loose and ran into our yard straight towards my dog.I guess he thought that all the back and forth growling and snarling through the fence had gone on long enough and that it was time for a face off....well,all I'll say is things did not go well for the little guy at all.

I would have ended the pitbull right there. I know several people who have killed their neighbors dogs because they either changed them or their livestock.

My Spartacus almost ended him as he throttled him and had him pinned down within minutes of breaching my property line. The owner literally had to pick him up and carry him back home.

I would tell the owner he's been warned.

The thing I'm having trouble with when finding a new breed is the lifespan of the larger breeds. My friend had two Great Danes and neither lived to see their 8th birthday. My German Shepard will be 10 in March but has blood cancer and is living day by day. It's sad that all the dogs I listed were all bred by credible breeders. My girls breeder suffered from a stroke and had to surrender all his dogs. My old sheltie was pedigree perfect to breed standards but at 13 he got lymphoma and keeled over half way through chemotherapy.
