55g would do for now but a 75g for one oscAR I think would be fine

a 55 will work as a grow out tank but long term, a 75 should be considered a minimum.

and once he gets big enough he will probably eat the cory cats.

gonna meet up tommorrow after 2 to get the oscar... and atleast try to get it in a tank that is atleast close to reasonably sized...looks like ill be tank shopping next weekend for something bigger than a 55g

there are no cory cats ...just wondering if they would be safe at a later time...but ill just leave it a single oscar tank

would full grown Redtail Shark (Epalzeorhynchos bicolor) or and full grown
Marble Veil Angel (Pterophyllum sp.) be compatable with an oscar...if iam gonna buy a new tank to correct some stupid walmart shppers error i want to see if i can put any fish i currently have in with the oscar...(iknow the rest oy my fresh water fish would be a snack for the oscar

i know someone that has kept oscars with angels but it was a 200 gallon tank. i would think that in a small tank, you're just asking for trouble.

if the oscar is hungry and can catch the shark, he'll eat him lol

A single oscar can be done in a 55g tank, but they will fill out the 12" front/back within a year. Not only that, a 55g will require 2 fin-level water changes per week to keep nitrates <20ppm. Corys are not a good oscar tank mate option because of their head spike. They both die if the O tries to eat one.

i thinnk my redtail is a female because she is a b@@@h and in a tank by herself for being a raging B.
