MY DOG WAS ATTACKED BY 2 PITBULLS TODAY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nope his behavior won't change, its just really sad for him to be so neurotic I know he is miserable at times. I had my vet give him Prozac and that has done wonders....its like he is finally able to relax. Just like people sometimes animals have some sort of brain chemistry which isn't working properly. It was just very frustrating for a long time because no amount of training or exercise helped. We can't have people over because he looses his mind in an excited fit, not just normal excitement people leave bleeding and bruised. Sometimes ya just have to accept things and move on. :)

that's crazy, I was gonna ask you about meds. but it sounded ridiculous in my head lol. But yea, its true animals can get ADD/ADHD, manic depression, etc.

Spoken like someone who never had any personal contact the breed, probably going off some 20/20 special or that neighbor you have never spoke to that happens to own a APBT.
By using that logic it's like saying no one can say nukes are bad unless they experience them first hand.

Sure some owners have positive experience with pitbulls while others have problems.

You can also get any breed of dog with problems/behavioral issues etc. Ive known several danes who have attacked people without any prior issues. Its not just a pitbull problem its just a dog issue. It really isnt that uncommon for a dog to be attacked when entering another dogs turf....intros are best done on more neutral ground. I have a friend with a psycho yorkie....any dog that enters its territory will be attacked. Just a huge difference in the damage a pit can do and damage a yorkie can do. lol

I was about to say this guy is just trolling now but I see it's been well taken care of.
I guess we can thank him for posting and bringing absolutely nothing to the discussion.

I just haven't heard any veterinarian, animal behaviorist or other dog professional having anything bad to say about them; which leads me to my last post.

several Dr.s who work at my Vets own them and have nothing but good things to say. I'm inclined to take a person w/ a PHD/VMD/VDM as having an educated conclusion based on experience and training.

Hello; Again the numbers would seem to be the difference. While dog fights can and do occur between many breeds, I seem to recall that the pit bull type leads this statistic. That being that they are responsible for a greater percentage of dog on dog attacks. Not 100% positive from just my memory on this, so anyone dedicated enough may be able to shed light on this.

If the pitt bull type does turn out to lead the dog on dog attacks as well as the fatal human maulings numbers, then this appears to be strong evidence that it is indeed a pit bull problem to a greater degree than any other dog type.
