Why? So that it can help provide ammunition against the hobby we all love?

Nope. It looks like an indigenous US turtle to me. Someone pulled it out of a pond. Thought that was obvious.

Ok so the shop is in PA. It should be returned to a pond in the southern US. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

You jumped to conclusions way too soon. There's nothing obvious other than missing facts. Key words there "U.S. Indigenous" not stating an actual range. Just a country that's one of the largest in the world. Quite the range there. You're saying anywhere from Arizona desert to Pacific Northwest to Alaska to Hawaii.

Also alligator snappers are not native across the entire state of pa unless the map is wrong-image.jpeg

Btw I don't wear panties I wear boxer briefs.

I'm not sure if the turtle is an AST or a common snapper but releasing native reptiles back into the wild is an unlawful act.An alternative could be to release it,with permission on someone's private land that has a pond but how would you prevent the turtle from wandering off?

A fence.

Those turtles freak me out, can you imagine swimming; and it bites your hand off, or your nuts :O

All the same, its never nice to see animals like that in these tanks; be better if you had to register to keep them

I could not remember the difference between the two and I have never heard of AST here either.I know that we are out of their range.
