Switching from gravel to sand.

Just googled all those brands That's not it. Who knows what kind of sand this damn place sold me.

We've had gravel or coral substrate in all our tanks for the last 15 years...until we set up our last 3 tanks...soon to be 4. I don't think we'll ever go back to using anything but PFS from here on out. That's just my opinion...but our cichlids love sifting through it, it is easy to keep clean, and looks great.

I think it just depends on what you want for looks. I'm not sure there is really much of a maintenance difference between them.

Well even after 30 mins of washing it's still coming up cloudy. Maybe it's the pfs I got.

This picture was taken hours after the 55 was setup. Granted its only about 1/2" layer, but I just dumped the sand right into the tank, straight out of the bag. The top of the bag of pfs is actually in the picture there.
