Aimara vs GATF vs Other

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have an aimara and dorado combo that's been working alright for the past month or so in a much smaller tank that you've proposed. They both have so much character..!

A dorado and wolf would look good in a tank, it'd be like the guy that had the big aimara and armatus. Simple but amazing.

Yes and in my opinion, the dorado in similar size can take a beating from an aimara better than a Armatus. If I remember correctly, the dude with the that combo's Armatus past away due to an injury from the aimara. Doradoes get real thick and brutish.

And they're more active. And their brutish look is what I like a lot lol, a brutish yet agile and active fish.
I believe so regarding the death of his armatus..

How quickly do dorado' grow? I'd give an aimara 2-3 years in a 180g if bought small. Would a dorado outgrow it faster? I have to make due for that time frame.

I don't believe it's very fast probably be like 18"+/- after 2 years, but they are active and idk how well they learn the boundaries of their tank.
DB junkie DB junkie what'd you think?

I had my Frankie for 3 years and a 180 ticked him off, but that was after being in a 750.

Flip side - Aimara alone in a 180, it's gonna eat. Feeding is gonna be fun. Poof!?! It's BIG. When they get big they get scary. It may take 2-3 years in a community setting for Aimara to get big, but history has shown single kept pets grow much faster.

There was a monster one in Chicago years back - owner sold it swearing it was capable of breaking a 180.

IF you have the loot for the monsters you should have the loot for housing, filtration - their life support. Go a little bigger and you'll be better off. There's stories of small tanked Aimara killing themselves.

A pack of super golden dorado in an pond exposed to sun would be sweet. One of the top freshwater predators imo.

Shouldn't we be able to bake them with bulbs? IF people grow coral surely they could sun a Dorado--- What do we use for lights? Some of the new LEDs for growing plants? Should be able to give them MORE "sunlight" in a controlled environment. Easily. Just "how"?
