I have an aimara and dorado combo that's been working alright for the past month or so in a much smaller tank that you've proposed. They both have so much character..!

And they're more active. And their brutish look is what I like a lot lol, a brutish yet agile and active fish.Yes and in my opinion, the dorado in similar size can take a beating from an aimara better than a Armatus. If I remember correctly, the dude with the that combo's Armatus past away due to an injury from the aimara. Doradoes get real thick and brutish.
A pack of super golden dorado in an pond exposed to sun would be sweet. One of the top freshwater predators imo.
