Caught my first American shad of the season today. They've been around for a couple of weeks now, just been too busy to get on the water. Going tomorrow after work:).
Lots of Atlantic sturgeon jumping too.

Shad and sturgeon sounds like a great day to me! Any picture of the Shad?

Just got back, went out to screw around a bit in a late season trout hole, ended up nabbing a 14" Rainbow on the Crickhopper, along w/ 4 Largemouths, a 5",10", 14", and a 17", that weighed 4lbs. Also got a small Rockbass, Green Sunfish and a little 4" Smallmouth. Not bad for a day I had no expectations on

Some times those are the best days frank no pressure to catch anything then bam your in time and time again lol
I went out mid week a stalked a 20lb+ mirror carp for a couple of hours but no joy he just swam past every bait I offered and sun bathed at the surface it was far too hot for them to feed :( I can't get out today bit hoping tomorrow will be dry and I get some time to get out.
I've also booked me and the Mrs into a self catering apartment next weekend at a fishery so carp fishing for two days for me :)

Some nice catches from this weekend below including a 14" White Bass, 22" (5.5#) Drum, 30" ~10# Pike, and 23-23" Spotted Gar. Also lost a 22-23" Steelhead after snagging the spoon in the net and a 23-24" Pike that thrashed off (caught casting a big swimbait). Plus a bunch of panfish mixed in over the long weekend (Friday to Sunday) too. Pretty good time for being stuck in the bay 2/3 days due to 20-30 mph winds!
