I have to call b.s so you mean to tell me if your new teug came in with 1 eye or 1 pectoral fin you would be fine with it ? Sorry but i dont buy it. I was the person with the moke with no finlets. Your description of how vendors should operate and the problem with replacing damaged fish is actually how most of them DO operate. Selling deformed fish would hurt their business in the long run your not seeing the larger picture....many peolle would do business with them just ecause they stanf behind their product... more $$$ in the long run.



Its not a simple scratch the face is deformed just like the moke was deformed. As i said earlier something thats easily cured with some meds or extra care no problem but doa, and issues thats are permanent imo is a different stroy.

The issue im having with your stance is since when do hobbyists side with vendors that dont deliver what the claim to deliver. As a whole if we accept shotty quality fish and dont hold these guys to the standards that they themselves claim to have then whos to say what the level of acceptance will be.

Funny though that i stated a few times that inwasnt sure i would even ask for a fish....are you defending WS or some other vendor that has issues lmao

My responses aren't just to you directly they're more or less just as a whole since people were suggesting getting a whole other fish. That fish isn't deformed, it just had a run in with another poly, and with vendors that get in WC fish they have fish with problems like this all the time, but if they had to sell at a discounted price, or even had to do a 2 for 1 deal just to get someone to take the fish, then they'd lose money. And yes I've actually a few fish come in with some problems, but I never saw it necessary to ask for another or even a discount. I basically don't think a discount or another free fish is in order for a minuscule thing. If it's a very noticeable deformity then I can understand some pre-warning/discount.

Either way I think we stand to far apart to argue anymore so let's just enjoy your new fish. I don't want to derail your thread from them anymore hahahaha

I'm with dr. B if the fish is alive and well and doesn't have something so wrong wit it that it might die or infect the tank I'd just leave it be and not ask for another if I woulda got it I would just look at it as I got a unique bichir that I can give a unique name to

Yeah i guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Like i said im not too concerned about it. Wetspot has always been good with things like this. Infact if you guys recall the moke thread at first i wasnt even gonna notify them and i offered to send the fish back in exchange for a new one.

I just want to reiterate an important fact that has been overlooked. Just in case there are some who thinks the statement of 'getting a new fish' made was a way of trying to milk a vendor. It's not. The facts are that if it is a defect was missed in the past. Another fish was offered by Wet Spot without the customer asking. As a vendor, they do accept the responsibility of their inadvertent error. They do their best to make a wrong to a right, and remedy the situation in a timely manner. These are the facts.

ya.....sooooo many accidents happen everyday w/ fishkeepers, I try to make sure every square inch of every tank is covered as much as I can......if there's gaps, those gaps have plants sticking out of them
