what did he hit on??? U eat him or catch-and-release???
green powerbait with green powereggs dipped in some sort of trout bait dip
the trout up here love green, and I did try to release him (I sat there for about 15mins trying to release him), but since he wasn't able to swim back my dad smoked him. Since he has an obsession with smoking meat.

yea, looked like he swallowed it pretty deep. Trout are hemophiliacs....once they start bleeding, you might as well just keep them otherwise they just bleed to death.

What color green? Chartreuse, Forest, standard, etc?

Mud crab or Samoan crab in Hawaii. (Scylla serrata).

Damn!!! They can get 7.7lbs??!?!!

Yeah man they come up to capemay August-sept. Wilmington canyon
I guess you can't access them without a boat, huh? I'm into Surf-fishing and day-trips :(

When was the last time you seen any Striper out there anywhere in your area??? What the ocean temp also currently??

Wo
wow, those some impressive fish, Sean.....This was Lake Ontario?? HOW are the surface temps as low as 33F and as high as 70F+????????? How is that even POSSIBLE???!!!

Thanks! And yes, Lake Ontario, fishing out of Olcott. Caught the Browns as shallow as 10' and Steelhead as deep as 516' (suspended, of course). The temps were like that because the lake flipped due to 7-10' waves the first couple of days we were there. It was so violent that the cold water from the bottom pushed up to the top of the water column and the waves & currents mixed all of the water together. It was actually colder inshore than offshore while it was flipped, but it was all back to normal by Monday afternoon.

is that a typ-o.....516 feet down???? U guys were downrigging that deep??? Man, I never seen 10 foot waves on a LAKE.....I barely seen 10 foot waves in the OCEAN!! Never been to the Great Lakes, but one day I gotta....I hear it's a sight to behold....might as well BE oceans anyway going by the size or least a Sea.

Not a typo, but the fish weren't down that far. We were fishing in 516 FOW (about 9-10 miles offshore), but I was catching the fish suspended from 20-150' down, on downriggers and Divers on steel wire. I've only seen 10'rs on Erie twice but it happens pretty often when you get a good breeze going. The Great Lakes are amazing, by far my favorite places to fish and just to be in general. They certainly act more like seas than any lake I've heard of, they may even be classified as inland freshwater seas, but I could be mistaken.

HOT lol. I wanna say right offshore the temp was nearly 80 until the past few days. Not sure what temp we were fishing. The back bay up and down NJ are stuffed with striper. No monsters but good fishing
