don't know why Congo Tetras aren't an option. They fit within your size standards, are from the same river systems as your upside down catfish, and are very colorful.

Very colourful is my problem with them lol. I want my catfish to be the main feature, and in a tank with Congo tetras that won't happen..
For obvious reasons haha :)

Well make sure your lighting is low. I only see my syno if the lid is off the tank and the water is dim or if the lights are completely off

I find my scape affects Felix's behavior, the more he likes the scape, the more active he is. It also helps when I create cover that extends the length and width of the tank. :D

I usually add some sort of cover to the top of a tank as it seems apreciated by many fish, do u have any sort of large( bigger than Felix mouth) tadpoles that u can grow out? I used to growout bullfrog tadpoles in my planted pictus tank.

Its highly illegal for me to keep frogs without a permit. Permits cost money. Money I'd rather spend on fish. :D

I'm still looking for a decent African floaty plant to use on the surface.
Where would I look for African azolla (sp?)? At a nursery? Where does one buy "pond" plants? :)

Well out here one buys pond plants at nurseries and online, but it might be hard there, because u r in the expensive land where everything fun is banned.
