Tbh im not a big fan of piranha, i mean it is an option but i prefer discus or an african tank. Either way im getting started with cichlids :D

ah icic, in that case how about some grammodes? or aka mini-dovii's lol.
i think they max out at around 12" give or take in a home aquarium and it's
a mini but monster in attitude, predatory, and a cichlid. fits all the bill if you
ask me lol :D i think scientific name is cichlasoma grammodes or was it
chiapaheros grammodes dont remember but either one lol..

Incredibly cool, i love guapotes but i dont like the idea of keeping any fish over 9" in a 48" tank, especially big chunky cichlids

i dont even know the dimensions of the tank your getting or have actually just assumed

well with those dimensions its not too bad... but ya its a bit small for a fat grown
gram i guess. couple piranha species that could do well in that tank but u said ur
not a big fan so gonna try to think of something else lol..
