'Devil

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I decided to get back into cichlids after being cichlidless for a few years.
I got this Devil on December 6th, 2016. It's housed in a 90gal by itself.
I figured that I'd share some pics as the time passes.

Make sure you quarantine and medicate live feeders before offering them as food.

Looking great. I love how nice and clean and simple the tank is with plenty of room for the Devil.

Any plans for any tank mates? I think something like 12-15 Giant Diano (Danio aequipinnatus) would look nice.

I like how the tank looks and the little cave you made for him. Lucky fish he's got lots of growing space

I wasn't planning on any tank mates because they can be costly when it comes down to territory. A school of Giant Danio's you say? Hmm.. Do you think that they would be fast enough to run from the terrorist? My other concern would be their strength... My current in-tank flow rate is a sad 400gph but plan to boost that to 800-1000gph. Can the danio's handle that? I am making a sump around January or February

My LFS recommends a 40gal for it... Such jokes. 125gal tank & stand is on sale for $500 but investments come first, leisure comes later.

Giant Danio's move and act pretty much like any other Danio's, only bigger. At 4" long, they should be plenty fast and strong enough to handle the current. If they don't make it they only cost around $4-5 around here, so not a huge loss if you try out 7-10 of them.
