If you look in the second photo that Stannzz posted recently (in response to my question about female nuchal humps) you can see that the male & female both have the junk out... Theres actually eggs in the bottom left of the photo if you look close... Anyhow that photo shows the true size difference in genitalia when the fish are actually spawning. The females tube is really blunt and thick, the makes has a point.
Hay dude hows it going I was wondering were you got your green terrors from I been looking threw the thread. Basically a little pissed off the green Terrors the dude sold me as silver there bands are tinting orange -.- so I'm going to take them back
TerrorG, I purchased 7 out of my 8 from AquaScapeOnline, I thought I had posted that on the first page in the original post.
I've heard of that happening often... silver/whites that don't have a strong enough genetic makeup for the white/silver coloring usually end up fading to a light shade of orange or yellow. I haven't personally experienced this yet, but I have read a few threads regarding it as well as seen a few pictures of the progression. It's not something you can always predict, I wouldn't blame the seller bc it's not really something he could have known prior to selling to you

gold saum fry / young fish have white/silver looking thin bands in the beginning. it then goes yellow to orange and sometimes later to a almost red.
Not always the case, many of them will be born with a white edging/saum and maintain it throughout adulthood. Has a lot to do with the genetics and lineage. For quite some time, the white edged saums/rivs were considered genetically weaker than the standard Gold Saum and were culled - which is why they are so difficult to find. Whether or not the fish maintains the same coloration of white/silver or it fades to an orange/yellow from white/silver is directly related to genetics and doesn't signify the age/maturity of a riv. Not all of the rivs born with white/silver saums change to gold/yellow over time...
Here's mine. Not sure what it is, but its tail is white/silver. He/she is roughly 3-4"
