Ha ha...I like it, too. A cool, lockable, screw-on lid is never a bad thing. That's exactly how I felt about the big bucket of Matrix. Didn't want to worry about having to get more media established to start a new tank up.

The gste valve arrived today. 1st issue lol
It doesnt fit the tee. The problem is its the exact same size. The tee is 3 inch and reduced to 1.5 on the sides, but could only find threaded on the 3 inch (middle) portion. So i added a 3 inch slip adapter. Even without the adapter the gate sits flush with the tee.
Any ideas ?

Can you cut a piece of pvc to go in between the gate valve and the threaded adapter. It seem that they are both the same size slip fitting.

just gave me the same solution... i didnt know that slip sock = slip female...which is what both fitting are..Thx man

Yeah i have too much time on my hands but hey it was raining all day.
Need to pick up some elbow,tees, and order some ball valves and i'll pretty much have everything for the drains.
Filter socks add the ranco came yesterday too. Gonna set it up on my existing tank to see how it works.
I have 100 micron socks on hand so with the new order i wemt with 50's and 10's... just wanted to see what 10 mocron does only ordered a few lol.

Ugh waiting just sucks. Had the builder move the return bulkheads from the back corners of the tank to closer towards the middle. Not sure how im going to set the returns up so i just ordered 3/4 inch loc lines and a bunch of black pvc fittings from flexpvc.com
Also switching to a 2 inch gate/tee's. Leaves allot more rom to work with vs the 3inch gate/tee's
Everything has either been ordered or arrived just need to get the sand.
