New Aquarium Stocking Suggestions

Think of them as the Oscars of Madagascar. Enormous personality and appetite. They're really more like a South American fish than a typical African Rift cichlid. They're also very hardy and can accept a vast array of water chemistry and they're absolutely beautiful. I intend on starting a harem of them once I move into my house this year :)
My one teacher had one that was brutal to everything, he had to give it away. They had 2 at an LFS but I only have a 70 to house it and it seems to small

Yes, very much into bichirs! They don't really bother anyone that isn't snack-sized or another bichir, and that interspecies aggression is hit or miss depending on the personality of the bichir. I think Ornates can be a little more aggressive to other bichirs in general, from what I've read, but if you just want one (which is hard to do, they are addictive IMO) an Ornate would be cool. They are beautiful. Of course many people keep ornates with others, too. The poly peeps can help set you up for success if you want a few including an ornate.

I do plan on having my someday Polleni with a pile of polys. :)
Good idea, I'm ordering a palmas subspecie soon, or a del or whatever appeals most to me. Due to budget i'm sticking at one lol

Awesome, I figured it might work. My Polleni never goes to the bottom of the tank, he's constantly patrolling the top. I do already have a ton of "bottom dwellers" in their with him right now so it's probably best for me to wait until I get the 300. I've got him with Ptychochromis Oligacanthus, Hoplarchus Psittacus, clown loaches, lots of bottom dwellers.

Yeah if you wouldn't put an Oscar in a 70 I wouldn't put a Polleni in either.

Not at all, I have a salvini as my cichlid buddy. Hopefully when the pink tail gets sold he doesn't turn on my knives

From what I've read that's not super common (unless you have a pair that starts to spawn.) I am hoping that your teacher's experience was just with a jerk fish. ;)

I am a huge sucker for the Delhezis - love how they look. Gray with yellow tinges and the constrasty black stripes. The Palmas Pollis aren't as attractive but they are supposed to be one of the most active, which is why I want one. :)

I could seriously have a tank completely full of bottom-dwelling fish. I am just a huge sucker for them - have always been.

Perfect cichlid for a 70
He is cool, and starting to get his yellow now

I may try a polli, hopefully black sand will darken it up when I get it.

Ok ammonia is gone!! Nitrite is high!! :) or :( ? Lol also I noticed there is like a furry white fungi's on a price of drift wood. Is this normal?

Driftwood white fuzzies are normal for new pieces. You can brush them off just before WC. It will go away eventually.
It goes away after a bit, nothing to worry about :)
