DN328 was thinking about the water level in the overflows. Possibly caused because the stand pipes are slightly off from each other ?
Or maybe because the left side siphon drain is a smidge lower than the right when coming out of the bulkhead ?
If i lowered the siphon stand pipes would that require me to close the gate even more ? Or is the level dictated by the amount of flow being retricted by the gate and the water level in the overflow will stay the same ?
I've never had dual overflows, so have not experienced first hands. But I do think, in theory, different siphon drain lengths would have different head pressure, right? So that could be the case. Also, are your trickle pipes the same height when not running - that would also be why one is more above the overflow water level? It's hard to say if the gate valve would need to be closed more. I suppose with more pressure, you would. But, you may be able to turn up the return pump as well. You definitely have the juice left running on 3.
What you could do is add a coupler/connector at the end so that you could adjust up and down if you ever wanted to. I added not because of that, but I thought it gave a "finish look" to my stand pipes LOL.
Food for thought Jaws...now is the time to do this before you don't have tenants in the tank...this is s snapshot when we were setting up with the mud liner the tank was and with the lined tray. You don't have to do it like this - this is just an example. I'm fairly careful, but you will get splashes now and then.
I take my statement back. You don't have monsters that slam into tank lids generating tsunamis which end up as large puddles on the floor, or create such violent wave splash action that there is sometimes water on the window 5' away. And you will never refill your tank and overfill by about 25 gallons....... I have to get the hardwood floor in the living room refinished after the fish are moved to their big tank
Tsunami generators and carelessness on my part make me wish my tank was on a bare cement floor.
Ah...but yes, still valid points. The good news is I think Jaws has lids, but surrounding area will get little splashes now and the. But wow, 5' away LOL...
Are we talking about splashes from maintenance or plumbing leaking/breaking.... second better not be a "when" lol

Fish aside, you'll get drips swapping socks and doing maintenance.
As for pipe leaks...that depends on your plumbing skills LOL...
If its not leaking now how long does it take for you to stop holding your breath and relax ?
If you've got everything running and water through all the plumbing, you typically will see it leaking within seconds - if it's going to leak. I don't want to jinx it, but if you haven't seen leaks now, you should be good.
Although, you know how I/most don't glue the pipes to the bulkhead inside the overflow? In time, I think some water got it and I started to get a trickle in the other end of the bulkhead as I used threaded connector to the PVC. I ended changing the bulkhead and gluing the pvc. You didn't do this so shouldn't concern you
