75 gallon update: A friendly vendor on this forum gave me a little help on my cycle problem. He told me to siphon out water from my 125 and dump it in my 75. Along with water, I also took a large styrofoam cup full of sand. Just to be sure this was kick started I opened up my other canister on the 125 and took some of it's media as well.

Since then, yesterday morning, I have 0 ammonia, 0.5 ppm Nitrites, and I didn't check the nitrates because I put old 125 gallon water in there so that will skew my results. I'd be willing to be I'll be cycled by Monday monring. Mr. Jeff got all set up :D

There is very little bb if any at all in the water column. Transferring it to the 75 wont due much besides skew any test results. Can you remove some of the seeded media from the filters on the older tank and put some in the filters on your 75 ? That would jump start your cycle. Moving water is just...well moving dirty water lol

Oh yeah i grew anubias and jm with regular lights so im sure that would be fine but it wouldnt really be geared towards plants. Maybe post in the planted section maybe fine just get a timer and research how many hrs a day you need to leave it on.

Btw i use those same lights on all my tanks. I live them expecially the customizable settings

It doesn't take much IME to grow those specifically - they do well in low light setups.

I don't know enough about LEDs and plants to advise you on that light specifically. It looks really similar to my Finnex Planted Plus which is enough to even make swords happy. You might search on the "planted tank" forum. Or maybe in the planted subforum here?
Or just compare the specs of the planted plus and this one.

I bought the satellite plus just now. Here is the deal, I have an awesome plant light on my 125 and I'm only growing anubias in that tank. So what I will do is take that light and put it on the 75 and put this new light on the 125.

This is what I have already.

I should have quoted directly what he said and not take it out of context. He told me to "siphon water from cycled tank to new tank an include detritus from bottom of tank when doing so" which is different than just adding dirty water in there. Anyway, I also took filter media from another canister and also took substrate from the 125 as well. I did this when I initially set this 75 up but it didn't work like it is now.

No i understand but what im saying is there isnt bb in the dirty water. Its dirty because your bb already converted it.

The media and your sand will do the trick not the old water. Now you could really just cheat your way out of it and pick up a couple of bottles of tetra safestart lol...i like cheating

I've seen some people just dump the whole bottle in there. I guess that's what I'd need to do? I've done with by the dosing instruction before on nite out and it didn't help at all.

I'll wait until next week because the cycle is screaming fast now. I might not need any help from safestart.
