I really hate that black friday is taking over thanksgiving. I like to eat till comatose, then relax all day. now its eat, then go rush to stand in lines. That's what happened here. I was like, come on...halloween hasn't even happened yet.
Not me,I can't be bothered with that shopping foolishness.I really hate that black friday is taking over thanksgiving. I like to eat till comatose, then relax all day. now its eat, then go rush to stand in lines.
I try to get out of it every year. Never worksNot me,I can't be bothered with that shopping foolishness.
Same here...I stay clear of stores on black fridayNot me,I can't be bothered with that shopping foolishness.
I saw a post on FB the other day that said(basically): "Why do people feel the need to tell me I can make pancakes on any other day than pancake day? I can also drag a pine tree into my house on any other day but I only do it on Christmas"

I was going to say this but you beat me to itMy box clearly says "Christmas Tree" not pine tree in a box. So therefor I cannot set it up when its not Christmas time.
Lol now I'm imagining you reading all my posts talking like Croc DundeeI read this in the thickest Aussie accent ever haha
Hahaha I just think its odd for food to have it's own special day is all... I mean, I love me a nice homemade lasagna, but I don't think we need "national lasagna day" for it..No one said that they can't and apparently they are as they sure seem to sell plenty of them every day at Donkin Donuts....I'm not sure why it all confuses you so much perhaps no one makes up such things in your country......said in my clearest American accent.
Most of the holliday's you've mentioned seem like reasonable holidays, Christmas, easter, veterans day etc I can understand, I've never understood what Halloween is or why its celebrated, I guess I should look that up...Hello; An answer to the major "days" here in the USA is commercial. Not that I can name them all right now, but I think there is a major named "day" each month. The next one is Easter I think. Easter, Halloween, Christmas, mothers, fathers, memorial, presidents, 4th of July, veterans, and that's all I can name right now.
The big box stores have the Easter displays up. I think they went up right after the valentine day clearance. What will come up after Easter? Anyway a big commercial day pretty much each month.
The minor days are wanna be's I guess. I cannot name those. We also have named weeks and months.
I didn't see Thanksgiving in stores last year(2016) cause of the Christmas stuffI really hate that black friday is taking over thanksgiving. I like to eat till comatose, then relax all day. now its eat, then go rush to stand in lines.
All hallows eve is the night the dead/spirits/monsters etc are allowed to roam the earth. People dress up to blend in with all the spirits. Trick or treating im not sure, might just be the child side of itI was going to say this but you beat me to it
I'm to lazy to cut down a tree every year and lug it home, I'd rather set up my little 18" plastic one on a lamp table and call it a day

Idk if Australia dedicates any days to food or not, I've never checked because I never thought there would be someone who is so obsessed with a certain type of food that they thought it deserved its own day of recognition.. Although if we did have days for food I'd hope there would be a National Vegemite Sammich Day or a National National Pie And Sauce Day... Or maybe even National Eat The Coat Of Arms Because That's Not Weird At All Day
We do have National Talk Like A Pirate Day in September though, that's always fun

Mothers and father's day are stupid imo, you should tell your parents that you love them and show them you're grateful every day, not just once a year when you give them socks or slippers.
Easter kind of bugs me from a retail standpoint, the fact that it was a religious thing and now its a day for spoiled children to eat more junk bothers me probably a little more than it should, but I won't get into that...
Maybe its just me but I don't think Jelly Doughnut Day should be put in the same category as a day used to celebrate and commemorate the lives of people who fought and died for their fellow countrymen... Idk, American culture is strange to me, but I'm sure you guys would probably think our culture is odd too... I mean, how many countries eat their coat of arms?![]()
Thanks for that. I've always wondered about it but never enough to look it up.All hallows eve is the night the dead/spirits/monsters etc are allowed to roam the earth. People dress up to blend in with all the spirits. Trick or treating im not sure, might just be the child side of it
