What does everyone use to treat Internal Parasites???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man it kills me every time I see that hybrid in your profile pic. Should have bought it

Dieselhybrid Dieselhybrid , please... could you give me the exact composition/ingredients in the praziquatel that you guys use

I am trying to find some in South Africa but sometimes the composition of certain medicines changes slightly from country to Country so just want to make sure that it is the same here

Maria, prazipro is a brand name for the drug praziquantel. I'm using the name of the active ingredient. I buy it in bulk because the prazi pro brand is watered down.

I'll check labels for more info!

What are the other ingredients? If the rays are captive bred you're likely okay. I just like having everything on hand just in case.

Dieselhybrid Dieselhybrid .. some good news..
I visited my Pharmacist this afternoon and he was able to help me
It is available for humans under the name Biltricide. The down part is that its a schedule 4 drug and not everyone will be able to get it
Fortunately I have known him for 25 years and he did sell me some.
So... I still need to complete my research on what other combinations we have available that are safe and freely available that I can recommend to other people which have now also acquired rays and contact us for help

This is what the label for Biltricide says:

BILTRICIDE tablets contain 600 mg of praziquantel. Inactive ingredients: corn starch, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium lauryl sulfate, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide and hypromellose

If this is ok please can i ask...
-is the dosage of 600mg for 200l of water correct?
How long do I leave it in the water for before doing water change?
How long between then and dosing second time
And finally from what age/size can pups be treated with this safely?

Sorry for all the questions...... but I do appreciate the help...

I wouldn't use it with all those other ingredients

CANAMONSTER CANAMONSTER ... Im totally confused...

Yesterday the Pharmacist assured me that the tablets were plain Praziquantal so I was all happy...

Last night, when I googled to make sure, the drugs.com website lists those "inactive" ingredients as well...

Im no pharmacist or vet so i have no idea what the impact would be of "inactive" ingredients so... I havent dosed the little guys yet... was waiting for some of you more experienced guys to chime in before i try....

These are the two little pups i want to deworm
