Okay so I'm thinking there is something going on in this tank and I'm guessing it's the wood.
I lost a neon and his tail was bitten off so that was an angel I'm betting.

I just noticed one angel sitting on the bottom of the tank.

I started off with 6 agels, 9 neons, 3 corys, and 1 senegalus.

I've lost the sen, 1 cory, 1 neon, and 1 angel is going down.

The sen didn't have noticable trauma nor did the cory and this angel. Just did a water work up and it's all perfect. No ammonia or nitrites and some nitrates. OR it's the lfs. If I lose something else I'm pulling the stock and wood.

IF it comes to that could I just pull the wood or do I need to completely beak down the tank and clean it?

Meaning, drain, rinse substrate, rinse all canister material etc.

What are your thoughts?

All other fish are acting normal. The temp is 81.

Also, one of the angels is twice the size of the other angels. That might be it as well. I don't really notice any aggression though.

3rd edit: I actually started with 12 neons and I bought them the same hour that the lfs got them in and actually brought them to my office in the same bag that they shipped in from their supplier. So they never quarantined these guys. The sen had been there for a few weeks so he was fine. The big angel had been there weeks also but the small angels were bought the day they came in.

i would go ahead and pull the wood and boil it and do atleast a 50% water change and do another in a day or 2 that should dilute any toxins enough you could even repeat a couple times just to be safe

Before I introduced the wood I did pour a massive pot of boiling water on every crevice of it. It's such a large piece that I can't fit it in a pot. It fills this 4 foot tank in every dimension.

When checking water parameters did you also check the PH? Usually not a big change unless you have a PH drop. The driftwood can effect that aspect of water quality. Some fish deal with the PH drop better than others.

I know, didn't expect that to happen. In the big tank I noticed my delhezi has a nipped tail. It's not bad but someone is messing with the wrong animal, my favourite! If I find the culprit I'll send him packing.

IMO ,Would monitor and see if nipping continues or if wounds occur before I send a poly packing. It could have been a one time thing.Ultimately you are the judge though . :) . And I totally understand if it is your favorite poly. :p that means no games. Lol

For big pieces of driftwood I use a cooler. They're perfect, you fill with boiling water and close the cooler and it will still be hot like 24 hours later.

Sorry for all your losses. I would do what thefredpit said. Remove the wood, do a large water change, maybe 2 days in a row.

sorry to hear about the losses. Pulling the driftwood might be a good idea for now. Or it could have been a bad batch of fish. Either way, it sucks.

What I've noticed over the past few months is that I need to quarentine everything. What some other people have told me was: "If it doesn't make it through quarentine, then it probably wasn't healthy to begin with."

What was the time line between healthy sen weeks ago, adding the drift wood, adding the new fish?

Neons like lower temps do they not? I have had my fair share of random fish deaths, it happens :(

Are you using a liquid test kit or test strips ? Could be like DMD said. The dw may be causing the ph to drop allot lower than what your tap is. How long after wc did this stuff start happening ? Test you tap ph then your tanks ph. Also don't test the tank water right after a wc wait a couple of days
