Passenger Dragged Off Of U.S. Airlines Flight!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The law they stated as the reason was denial of boarding due to overbooking - under that rule they only have the right to deny entry to the plane ... so a lawyer could easily argue this was misused - they can remove people for a vast number of reasons at their discretion but they will pay for it in court as they have stated denial of boarding due to overbooking ... effectively making that specific action illegal

IMHO bumping a person from a flight should never happen or be allowed do to over booking, not like they do not know how many seats they have, and Arline staff can take another flight as was the reason for this bumping.

Yup. Theyre paying out the teeth for this and will be for some time. I think people need to understand that in the corporate world public opinion is often the ultimate judge of what's right. Not logic, reasoning, rules or common sense. Public reaction alone has already cost them 10 figures in what 3 days? Who cares about right or wrong this is business and we get money screw everything else.

This was stupid. Right or wrong.
I often make concessions to jerk customers who are in the wrong if there is potential to make a scene or suffer blowback. You have to calculate the risks while predicting potential issues and quickly defusing situations. I've been in big business for a long time and from my perspective this was an easily preventable billion dollar mistake.

Just got burned before several times by him for no reason. It was preemptive.

Hello; Unfortunately I do not keep track of who posts what much of the time. Was this in a thread different from this particular thread?

I generally read a post and respond to the views expressed in that post and not very often is my response colored by the poster. There have been some exceptions where the poster has colored my responses, the carp and Jonah water come to mind.

If we have butted heads in different threads I simply did not make the connection when reading your posts in this thread. I guess we must have generally opposing philosophies on several subjects.

I guess you are better at holding a grudge than I am because I simply cannot recall other occasions when we opposed each other.

They'll argue 4 of the seats were reserved for staff and not for sale and the remaining were overbooked but they'll lose and fork out loads ... if they had any sense they would have settled already after the publicity ... I'd take a smackdown deboarding for 2 million lol .. I'll ask for that option next time I'm in the US ..
