ALL herbivores produce methane, not just cattle. What a minute....I thought Cattle(meat) produced methane. Wouldn't less of it stop the extra gas?

hello; grass is hard to digest so cattle have multi chambered digestive system to do the work of getting nutrition out of it. I believe part of that digestion is done by bacteria in the gut and these may be responsible for the methane. Are they called ungulates? Not sure but I think a lot of grazers digest grass this way.Cows on a grass diet produce a load of methane

I have also heard that termites produce methane and may be bigger producers of the stuff than grazers??
If you want to get depressed about methane look up methane hydrate.
