hello; grass is hard to digest so cattle have multi chambered digestive system to do the work of getting nutrition out of it. I believe part of that digestion is done by bacteria in the gut and these may be responsible for the methane. Are they called ungulates? Not sure but I think a lot of grazers digest grass this way.
I have also heard that termites produce methane and may be bigger producers of the stuff than grazers??

If you want to get depressed about methane look up methane hydrate.

hello; One more thing. Cows digest grass so poorly that the manure still has near 50% of food energy. Dried cow patties can be burned and some folks use it as fuel.

I also think pleco waste is also high in food energy.

My teacher didn't believe me when I said I had 36 pets, so I showed her a picture of my aquarium.
She freaked out when she saw how many dogs I could fit in there.

Hello; I do recall that guy. He was entertaining at the time but I would not have thought of him had you not posted.

Humm; I wonder what sort of bragging rights a guy/gal who uses steroids gets for beating up real girls??
