330 gallon setup and sump build

So as you can see this is what my levels are at right before I drained some water out of the tank to the sump. Looking at about a 1/8" difference there. Boxes started filling up evenly this time around. Kinda weird. Making me second guess everything I'm doingView attachment 1262545 View attachment 1262546 View attachment 1262547
Lol I had the same problem with my 180. Put it in place checked for level it was level side to side front to back. Left it alone for a day rechecked lvl before filling lvl front to back side to side. Filed it left overflow gurgling like crazy trying to keep up before right would start taking water checked lvl still looked lvl, off just a hair. Releveled now its a little better but I think its still a bit off even though it looks lvl to me and my wife. Got a contractor buddy coming over with some lasers in the near future....lol

Its driving me nuts! My guess is because it was sitting on brand new laminate wood floors that were just installed 4 months ago and nothing was every put over there so it was a little spongey with the foam they roll out underneath. Thats just what I am going to go with. Sump, stand, tank all level before. Now its all level now after filling. But the right overflow will still take on some water after pumps are shut even though the left isnt. Wondering if the teeth are cut out just a little lower than the other side.

Kinda the same thing mine is doing. Ill see this weekend. Not super worried about it its working fine just get a gurgle every once in a while. I was thinking of putting a valve in to restrict flow on the left a bit to even them out but I don't think its worth it.

Left overflow is faster on my tank. Once you get everything running and the gate dialed in you'll be fine. E drain taking on some water is fine since you oversized them. Close all the valves and see if 1 e drain can handle all the flow.

yea Im not familiar with your setup so a little hard to say if that would work or not. I think the tank goes through its own leveling process if its not on concrete directly. Weird stuff

Im gunna try that once I get these damn 2" bulkheads figured out. I got the gate dialed in pretty good until I noticed the drips from both sides. I am wondering that I strapped the pipe running underneath connected to it to high so its shifting the fitting? Picture an L shape since thats what it is. and the bottom part of the L is being pulled up ever so slightly, could that in turn mess up the seated postion of the bulkhead on the gasket

Agreed. This is the biggest "actual" tank ive had set up. Prior was a 135 back when I was a kid. At this house on the main floor not in the basement was a 120 no issues with it. I had 2 300g stock tanks in the basement at one time running as ponds with sharks, rays and angels, but that was on concrete and not a glass or acrylic box either.

Hand tightening didnt get the job done for me had slapp a wrench on it. Then because of the two inch e dtain really ddint have the room to turn the wrenched ended up using a blunt flat head screw driver and a rubber mallet. Whached the druver on an angle to get the bulk head to tighten

Same boat especially now that the tank is filled I cant do anything. Wish these leaks showed up when I did my leak test when the tank was away from the wall. I am letting the overflows dry out right now. do the gaskets have to be completely dry before I can tighten it up again?

You can wipe them down with a rag im not sure of they need to be dry but i made sure everything was dry when u re tightened.
