New mini monster....Ctenopoma Acutirostre

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've thought about getting one for my African tank. Right now I have Buffalo head cichlids, Congo tetras, syno nigervinter and a butterfly fish. I may stay where I'm at.
Sounds great as is, and a bush fish may intimidate the smaller fish

Great pickup! I have a group of 5 that are in the 4 -5" range right now. Very interesting fish . Nothing seems to phase them, and they have a tremendous appetite.

Thought I'd post an update on this guy. He (or she) is in the 135 and doing great. Finally getting some size on him. Not a picky eater, eats pellets, frozen and fd foods as well as the occasional ghost shrimp. Friendly and comes to the front of the tank to greet me but doesn't like the camera so kind of hard to get decent pics. Sorry for reflection on these pics.

Good looking leopard fish.

Love these guys! Does he pick on anyone? Or is he the smallest in the tank?
I have had a few of them over the years and I don't recall any of them bothering other fish. They constantly move about and patrol the tank....one of my favorite mini monsters.

Good idea,a group of them moving all over the tank should make for an impressive display.

I hope they won't bully each other to death, i read somewhere that they might, im gonno have good enough hiding spots and of course lots of plant mostly anu.
