5 sided plywood tank?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I really like the look
I think even without a door being the reason that chopping off a corner like that gives a tank a nice look, unless you will only be seeing it from the front.
I'd put that in the corner of my basement :)

Thanks! I put about a year into the thought and planning stage of this build. Tried to think out every conceivable way the plumbing could work out and came up with this. It does work quite well. Tank stays clean and free of waste. I directed the flow down and across the bottom and it flows up to the overflows. The angle seems to help direct all the waste right to the overflows also. I'm really happy with the whole set up. I'll be doing some detailed pics of the plumbing, filtration, and drip/waterchange system soon.

Tank is a beauty! Good job. I like how your thread shows how simple it is if you do the proper planning and research. The marbles are one of a kind.

You're probably sick of hearing it by now but my gosh you've done an amazing job building that tank! I'd need at least 30 years more practice before I could do anything even remotely this cool.

I also love the cut off corner, it adds a touch of 'class' to the tank, almost elegant if that's not a weird description. :D

... Is it odd that one of the first things I noticed about this pic was the reflection of the smaller tank? :P
