Senegal bichir lump on stomach

It could as it would be hard to digest. Good thing is it’s eating and acting normal.
Hi I’m new to this but have questions. We have a freshwater tank with an alligator gar which we have had for months but just within the past couples weeks the gar has developed these spots on his face.. had water tested and did a 40% water change and the spots were gone. A couple days later they are back. Does anyone have a clue what it is or what causes this?? They are only on his face, mouth and around the eyes. Please help! Can’t find anything online about this!
Thanks so what I'll do is work on getting rid of all the MTS for now and will see how his lump goes from there.
