I was under the impression the bonsai had a circular body like a coin. I’d consider this short body, I’m no pro however. Nice animal with a spacious tank.

Thanks haha, he’s still kind of stressed from moving in a few days ago. Trying to get him used to my presence since the tank is a feet away from my bed. But his kok has doubled or even tripled in size since he moved in a few days ago which i think it means he’s quite happy. first few pictures where he was darker were from the minute i added him in.
Okay, so i did some research. Classifications of a bonsai fh is measured by the ratio of body depth to standard length in short BD-SL ratio. So i measured my flowerhorn as accurately as i could and the ratio of my Fh’s BD to SL is around the 1.25 range. And anything exceeding 1.5 is considered short bodied according to classifications. I guess i found my answer
